Therapy for Pregnancy, Postpartum, and Parenthood
Becoming a parent is one of life’s most meaningful transitions—and also one of the most challenging. Many people experience pregnancy and postpartum as a time of joy and anticipation, but it can also bring unexpected stress, anxiety, sadness, or identity changes. If you are preparing for parenthood, pregnant, newly postpartum, or adjusting to parenthood, therapy can provide support, perspective, and tools for coping.
I specialize in perinatal and maternal mental health, including:
-
Postpartum depression and anxiety
-
Birth trauma
-
Grief and loss
-
Adjustment to parenthood and identity changes
-
Balancing parenting, relationships, and work
-
Support for partners during pregnancy and postpartum
-
Challenges returning to work after a parental leave
My Approach
I work collaboratively and reflectively, balancing empathy with gentle guidance, questions, and sometimes practical suggestions. My therapeutic orientation is rooted in mindfulness-based, person-centered, and somatic approaches. I believe that, in a supportive environment, people inherently move toward growth and that tuning into the wisdom of the body helps us to attune to emotional and psychological needs. Together in therapy, we use these tools to notice patterns, explore insights, and cultivate ways to respond to challenges that honor your values and support your wellbeing.

A Little More About Me
After earning my PhD in 2018, I spent most of my career as a professor—researching, teaching, and supervising future therapists. When I started my own family, I saw up close how profoundly the transition to parenthood can reshape every part of life. I felt a calling to serve others who are on this wild journey of family-building. Now, as a mom of two, I specialize in supporting people through infertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood. Before specializing in perinatal mental health, I worked in a broad range of clinical settings where I supported clients navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, and major life transitions. These experiences gave me a strong generalist foundation to work with a range of presenting concerns. As a therapist, I’m open, reflective, and like to use humor to connect with clients. Outside of work, I’m an introvert who enjoys gardening, long walks, and spending time outdoors. I would feel so honored to support you on your parenting journey.
Fees
Currently I am in-network with Aetna. For out-of-network clients, I can provide monthly superbills that you may submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. My out-of-pocket fee for a 60-minute individual session is $200.
